SAN FRANCISCO ALARMED. CITIZENS SEIZED WITH PANIC. NO DAMAGE DONE. (Received 3, 8.5. a.m.) New York, July 2. Earthquakes in Central California and Western Nevada did trivial damage. A panic seized the citizens of San Francisco and Santa Rosa, who made a pallmell rush from large buildings. At San Francisco the telephone and telegraph operators lied from their posts, and the services were suspended- until they realised that the danger was past. At a lodginghouse an inmate fell dead with fright. The Judge, jury, and attorneys sitting in the State Court at Carson City, fled from the Courthouse, fearit would collapse.
