MAKAHU NOTES.

(From our own Correspondent.) The Makahu school annual concert, followed' by the customary dance, lias again passed off with its usual success. Vocal selections were contributed by Mrs S. Martin and Miss A. Ford, Rev. Houchen, and Messrs J. Walls, it. Mourn-ey, and “The Man From Snowy River.” Mosdames W. R. S. Brewer, T. R. Mounscy, and Cameron played the accompaniments. The children’s items consisted of action songs, and scarf and Japanese fan drill (encored), showing great care on the part of the teacher and aptness on the part of the pupils. The dance music was generously contributed by Mosdames Brewer, Cameron, and Mounscy. We were pleased in again hearing Mrs S. Marlin,- and hope to again be favoured with her presence in the near future. 1 am sorry to have to chronicle the departure of Mrs S. Cameron, our teacher, from amongst ns; she will ho greatly missed both in her capacity as a teacher and for her kind assistance at our social functions; hut I desire to congratulate her on her professional advancement.
