Alfred Thuikettlo, of the Salvation Army, on two charges of breaches of the City Council by-laws (prohibiting public speaking or praying in Cathedral Square), was lined is and 20s, with costs in each case. F. It. Cooke, for a similar breach, was fined 10s and costs. Regarding a previous breach by Cooke, who is a Socialist, the fine not having been paid, lie was arrested to-day and imprisoned.
