DUTY ON FARMERS’ IMPLEMENTS.

At a meeting of the South Canterbury Executive of the Farmers’ "Union the president spoke of the action of ironmasters in seeking the cooperation of trades unions in obtaining a large increase in Customs duties on implements and farm machinery. as likely to result in injury to farmers’ interests if effective. A remit to the Dominion Conference was adopted, that the, Government bo urged to import farm labourers and domestic Servants.
