NATIONAL DAIRY SHOW.
RESULTS’ OF COMPETITIONS. (Per Press Association.) Palmerston North, June 23. At the National Dairy Show to-day there was a large attendance, despite tho rain. Tho milk-testing competition for farmers’ sons and daughters was won by Fred Lumley, of the Ashhurst School. Two jumping competi.tions were the main attraction, the Hunters’ Cup competition being won by J. R. McDonald’s Betrayer, and the Maiden Hunters by H. R. Lancaster’s Princess. In the former the Manawatu hounds were on the ground. A big smoko concert was hold in tho evening. At tne annual meeting of tho Romney Marsh Sheep Breeders’ Association, Mr. A. Mathews (Wairarapa) was elected president. A recommendation was made to vote £SO to tho Wheeler Memorial Fund. A motion was carried that with a view of making an outlet for New Zealand rams special correspondents be appointed abroad. The championship shields tin’s year are allotted to Otago and Manawatu. It was decided that tho annual stud ram and owe fair bo hold under the association’s auspices. YESTE RI) AY ’ S I PROCEEDING S. Palmerston North, Juno 23. Tho National Dairy Show concluded to-day after a most successful four days. The bad weather interfered somewhat with the attendance throughout, but nevertheless the returns are satisfactory and largo.' Wood-chopping and sawing competitions were field to-day, the former being won by A. Roscnfcldt, and the latter by A. Palmer and C. Petersen.
