At the Police Court Hits morning, before Mr J. -Lcydon, J.P., William Lotz was lined os for having; been found drunk in Broadway last night. On a charge of assaulting Victor Bennett, an employee in the telephone exchange while in the execution of his duty; lip., was remanded to be dealt with by the S.M. on dune 30th. Mr A. Col .son, Mahoo, accompanied ' by his wife and son, left by this morning’s mail train on a three, weeks’ visit to Auckland. • Mr R. B. Anderson, secretary of the Retailers’ Association, has received a telegram from the Bahmir Do partmont which clears up any doubt as to what holidays should he observed, this week. The- telegram states thdt shopkeepers need only observe the holidays mentioned in the Shops and Offices Act, Prince of Wales’' Birthday , hot being included. The ordinary Instruction meeting * of the Boy Scouts will ho held tomorrow' evening, when Dr Paget will continue his ambulance lectures. The • troop will parade at 11.45 a.in. on Thursday to take part in the Coronation Day procession.
