LIBEL ACTION.
HEADMASTER v. CHAIRMAN OF SCHOOL COMMITTEE. DAMAGES AWARDED. (Per Press Association.) Auckland, June 10. The action for libel, in which William Masson s,ued William Richardson (chairman, of, the Mauugatapero School Committee), claiming £SOO damages in respect of defamatory statements in a letter written to the Education Board by defendant, plaintiff being headmaster of the school, the jury found a verdict for plaintiff on all ‘issues, and the full damages claimed awarded. The case occupied ten days. The question of costs for eight extra days was held over.
