(From Our Own Correspondent.) On Wednesday evening last the hall committee held a euchre party and dance in aid of the hall fund, hut uni'ortunately tho right was very wet. and only about thirty braved tno elements, who, however, wore amply roll aided for their bravery, as a most enjoyable evening was spent. Miss Cumbonvortli secured the ladies’ pi ize, and Mr. Free the gentleman’s. Euchre over at 10 o’clock, supper ■ winch was provided by the ladies) was then partaken of; afterwards dancing was indulged in until past midnight. Mr, H. Toon supplied the music, and Mi. F. Coates carried out the duties of M.C. The annual public mooting of the hall committee, hold on Friday night, was but very poorly attended', only a few, who make a point of attending all mootings in all kinds of weather, putting in an appearance; in fact, if it were not for these few enthusiasts tilings in connection with I.all matters would, indeed, lie in a scry plight. As it is, the onus of the work falls to trie lot of two or three; several members of the committee maintaining an. attitude of placid indifference. Messrs. (I. M. Anderson, F. Coates, A. Colson, and 11. Shrimptoii, members of tho committee who retired by rotation, were re-elected, Mr. I). Johnson was re-elected chairman, and Mr. A. Colson secretary and treasurer for the ensuing year. In anticipation of an increased supple of milk at the creamery, and in order to ho bettor able to cope with the pasteurisation of skim-milk (a Cooper’s I’m lection Pasteuriser was installed last spring, and is giving every satisfaction), the directors have thought lit to increase the power, and, in consequence, the old 12-horse power boiler that has done service foi the past ten vears is’in he replaced by one of 2i)-lmrse power.
