President Taft appeals to tho Democratic Senators to reject Senator Roots’ amendment in regard to the printing paper clause in tho Reciprocity Bill. It is now believed that the Democratic Senators do not intend to combine the Reciprocity Bill with the Free List Bill, as originally thought probable. The Democrats have declared that they will unite to secure the passage of tho’ reciprocity agreement. The Senate’s final vote is not expected until Julv 14. „ ~L The Chicago Tribune’s poll of editors of 22 States shows that public sentiment largely favors tho reciprocity agreement.
