Mr. Fisher, interviewed re ins impression of the Epsom Derby meeting, said, despite the.bustle and stir on the road, there was an accompanying orderliness which must have appeared strange to many Australians. The King was banqueted by members of the Jockey Club. The Queen dined with the Duchess of Devonshire, but did not remain at the ball owing to the death of Prince John of Glucksburg, 'the King’s great uncle. The Colonial Ministers and their wives were among the distinguished guests.
