SODA CRUMPETS.
; Two anti a half pounds of flour, one bunco of .cream q f fill t ir, two ounces of lard, three of, 'sin ounce of bicarbonate of febtla; two Ounces of sugar, one quarter of skim milk. Put the lard in a cup to inelt, mix the powders well into the Hour; 1 put the milk, which should lie lukewarm, into a largo howl, stir in the sugar, add ths melted lard, and mix in the Hour to make a nice smooth hatter, then grease some hoops, about four and a half inches in diameter, and one inch deep. Put them on the hot gir:dle, and pour a little of the batter in them, in a few minutes the- top will be full of holes: lift off the hoops, and with a fish sheer turn the crumpets over to brown; in a few minutes they will bo done and ready for the table. And if you take our advice you will serve v ‘ Mikado” Blend Tea,, the tea that is a family tea, in the best sense of the word.. The “Mikado” blend costs less than other tens, only Is 6d a Hi, hut it gives a wonderful amount of satisfaction to the palate. It has a captivating flavour, and posseses strength and richness. Just try a pound of this toil for a change.
