In the Public Domain yesterday afternoon an ex-Son Mi African contingontcr gave a stirring address on the defence scheme, and moved a resolution in favour of compulsory training. The Socialist leaders moved an amendment that the gathering protest against compulsory training. i |.e S H,Mists insisted on a division, and about 0110 took no a position :n la,on; of the amendment and about 1200 on the other side. The resolution was declared carried with enthusiasm, the majority singing the National Anthem while the others interrupted Ivll.ll groans.
