Temperatures Moderating (Special) WELLINGTON, May 23. Following is the special forecast for Southland issued by the Meteorological Office this evening for the period ending 5 p.m. tomorrow: — An anticyclone over the Tasman is moving on to the Dominion. The pressure is falling in the south. Freshening north-westerly to westerly winds. The weather fair. Temperatures moderating. The weather in Invercargill yesterday was cloudy and cold, with a stiff westerly wind. The weather at one o’clock this morning was cool, calm and slightly overcast. The barometer reading was 1 30.24 inches (rising). THE TIDES—High water, Bluff, 0.25 a.m., 12.44 p.m.; Invercargill, 1.06 a.m., 1.25 p.m.; Riverton, 1125 a.m., 11.44 p.m.; Oreti Beach, 11.34 a.m., 11.53 p.m. THE SUN—Rises, 8.11 a.m.; sets, 5.15 p.m.
