RICCARTON HORSES FOR TE RAPA
The Vulture And Maggiore
In Team
(Special CHRISTCHURCH, May 7. Three Riccarton trainers left today for Te Rapa, where they will race their horses before going on to Ellerslie for the Great Northern meeting. C G. Humphries took The Vulture, Maggiore and Gulf Stream. R. Hawes is going to ride the first-named pair in their jumping engagements. E. Rosewarne went with Valantua, accompanied also by his rider, K. Thomson, and R. E. Johnstone took Rockery and will do his own riding. Gulf Stream is the only candidate for flat races in the party, but as he goes well in heavy ground he may do his part. Dividend was to have been in the party, but though he has recovered from the trouble that kept him off the tracks for a few days his programme has been changed, and if he goes to the North Island it will be to race at Wanganui next month. The South Canterbury flat horse Immediate and the Southland steeplechaser Sir Percy will travel tomorrow night.
