Mr A, W. Jones, registrar of the Southland Justice of the Peace Association, will leave for Auckland by the first express today to attend the annual conference of the Justices of the Peace Association.

Mr W. Race, who will succeed Mr P. I. Maclean on the staff of the Invercargill branch of the Trustees Executors and Agency Company, Ltd., has arrived in Invercargill. He will begin his duties on April 16. Mr G. A. Steel, postmaster at Wyndham, will resume duty on Monday after annual leave.

Mr Daniel Lynch has been appointed deputy registrar of births, deaths and marriages for the Wyndham district.

Guests at the Grand Hotel include Mx- R. C. Murie (Sydney), Miss E. H. Atkinson (Wellington),-Mr and Mrs G. W. Plimsoll (Christchurch), Mr and Mrs E. S. Brooks (Timaru) and Mr C. L. Marett (Dunedin).
