NO PLAY BECAUSE OF RAIN (Special) DUNEDIN, January 5. Because of steady rain there was no play in the Southland-Otago representative cricket match at Carisbrook today. Weather permitting, play will begin at 10.30 a.m. tomorrow. Rain began to fall about 6 o’clock this morning and it continued until 11 o’clock, when the weather cleared for a period. An inspection was made of the wicket and it was thought that a start would be made after lunch. However, rain began to fall again about midday and continued throughout the afternoon. REPRESENTATIVE MATCH AT CHRISTCHURCH No Play Because Of Rain (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 5. There was no play today in the cricket match between Canterbury and Wellington because of rain.
