SOCIAL AT GLENHAM
DAIRY FACTORY MANAGER HONOURED After having held the position of manager of the Glenham dairy factory for the past 19 years, Mr B. D. Bennie has resigned from the company to take up the position of farm dairy instructor at Palmerston South. During their long residence in the Glenham district both Mr and Mrs Bennie have taken an active and practical interest in most of the district’s social activities. In recognition of their services they were tendered a social in the Glenham Hall. Mr James Scott presided and there was a large attendance. Before the supper adjournment Mi’ Scott expressed regret at the departure of Mr and Mrs Bennie from the district and wished Mr Bennie every success in his new position. Mr John Jennings, chairman of directors of the factory, made the presentation of a well-filled envelope to Mr and Mrs Bennie, and his remarks were supported by Mrs T. Thwaites, Messrs E. Rabbidge, D. McKenzie, S. Browne, J. Henderson and A. Ferguson. Miss D. Matheson presented Miss Joyce Bennie with a gift from the young people of the district, and Joan Scott asked Daphne Bennie to accept a gift from her school mates. Mr Bennie replied.
