R.S.A. HOLIDAY CAMPS AT BLUFF
Two Of 10 Days’ Duration
It has been decided that two holiday camps, each of 10 days’ duration, are to be held at Bluff for the wives and children of servicemen overseas and for the widows and children of fallen servicemen. Sufficient applications have been received to fill the complement of each camp. The first camp will begin on January 8. The women and children who are to attend this camp will travel to Bluff by the 4 p.m. train on that day, and arrangements have been made for transport from the Bluff railway station to the camp. Women and children from the city will attend the first camp and the second camp, which is to begin on January 20, is for women and children from the country districts. Mr L. W. Anderson, secretary of the Invercargill Y.M.C.A., will be in charge of the camp and Mrs Anderson will be camp mother. The camps are being held under the auspices of the Invercargill R.S.A., in conjunction with the Red Cross Society. Arrangements have been made for all the work of the camps to be done by paid or voluntary labour so that the women who attend the camps may have a complete rest.
Gifts in money or kind will be welcome. They may be sent care of the Bluff R.S.A. or to Mr W. F. H. Stone, secretary of the Invercargill R.S.A.
