NO SERIOUS FIRES IN CITY

Superintendent’s Report For November There were no serious fires in Invercargill during the month, stated the monthly report for November of the superintendent of the City Fire Brigade, Mr J. Philp, received at yesterday’s meeting of the Invercargill Fire Board. Twelve calls had been received, made up of four property fires, four chimney fires and four justifiable false alarms. Six of the eight outbreaks had been extinguished with bucket pumps and two with the motor pump. Those present were: Messrs D. Harris (chairman), R. T. Parsons, W. Aitchison, A. Sharp and G. Warrick.
