Horne Cup for hunter which has not previously won a first prize at any show, open only to owners living within a radius of 45 miles from Gore.—G. H. Carter (Mandeville). A. Horne Cup for pony 12 & hands or under, saddled and mounted in ring and ridden by boy or girl 16 years of age or under.—E. T. King (Glencoe R.D.). Fleming and Company, Ltd., Cup for exhibitor gaining most points in plain baking classes.—Mrs W. A. McDonald (Oamaru). Mrs J. Stevenson Medal for best boy rider. —Allan Peake. R. K. Dodds Medal for best girl rider.— Shirley Stodart (Nightcaps). The secretary, Mr A. W. Cooper, has also received from the judge, Mr R. Hutton, the result of the class for 12 fat crossbred lambs suitable for export, the judging being carried out after killing. Mr Hutton placed the entry of T. A. Dickson (Menzies Ferry) first and that of S. Lynch (Riversdale), the only other competitor, second. He commented that the winning entry comprised 12 sheep of even quality; prime, but without being grossly fat. His judging on the hooks reverses the result of the judging on the hoof.
