BLUFF BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Mayor, Mr N. W. McGorlick, presided over a full attendance at the monthly meeting of the Bluff Borough Council. The Bluff Regatta Society was granted permission to licence sideshows on regatta day. Permission was given for the filming of pictures on Christmas Day. It was decided to increase street lighting hours to 1 a.m. on Christmas Eve and 3 a.m. on New Year’s Eve. The Mayor was appointed the council’s representative to attend a meeting to be convened by the Mayor of Invercargill on regional planning and postwar reconstruction. The dog tax for 1945 was fixed at 10/- a dog. Seasonal greetings were conveyed by the Mayor to the council’s staff, Cr E. Matheson and the town clerk, Mr H. A. Ferguson, replying. J
