BOTTLE DEPARTMENT AT GRAND HOTEL

Move By Trust To Cope With Christmas Trade In order to cope with the Christmas trade, a bottle department is to be opehed by the Invercargill Licensing Trust this morning in a vacant shop in the Grand Hotel buildings. The shop was formerly occupied by a firm of grocers. Liquor will be sold for taking away only. The secretary of the trust, Mr E. Barnett, said that if the demand warranted it this bottle department might be kept open until a start was made on the alterations to the Grand Hotel. The plans for the alterations provided for a bottle department, though not in exactly the same part of the building as the temporary department.
