OBITUARY

MR JOHN TEMPLETON Mr John Templeton, who died at Riverton in his 92nd year, was born in Scotland and came to New Zealand when he was nine years of age with his parents, the late Mr and Mrs John Templeton, on the Robert Anderson. He came to Invercargill in its early days. He helped his people on their farm at Waimatuku and subsequently took up farming on his own account at Clifden in the Waiau district. For a number of years he lived at Pahia and Orepuki. PRIVATE D. L. FERGUSON Private D. L. Ferguson, whose death has occurred at Christchurch, was a son of Mrs Ferguson and the late Mr A. R. Ferguson, of Gore. He went overseas with the Ist Echelon and took part in the campaigns in Greece and Crete. After being wounded and taken prisoner in Crete, he was for some time in a German hospital in Greece and was later in a prisoner of war camp. He returned to Gore a few months ago and had gone to Christchurch for medical attention.
