SHELTER AT ORETI BEACH

CITY COUNCIL TO ERECT BUILDING The erection of a shelter at Oreti beach, probably in concrete and at a cost of up to £3OO, is to be undertaken by the City Council. This was reported at the meeting of the council last night. It was also decided, on the recommendation of the Reserves Committee, to erect a pavilion for women at Queen’s Park at a cost of £l5O. Ci’ J. Pickard, chairman of the Reserves Committee, stated that the pavilion was being erected at the request of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. There would be provision for making tea at the pavilion.
