EYES OF THE NAVY

(Official News Service.) (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 4. New Zealanders are among the Spitfire pilots of R.A.F. Fighter Command who acted as eyes for the naval bombardment of German gun posts _on Walcheren. They had a unique view of the precise shooting by heavy naval guns. Flight Lieutenant I. J. McNeill saw German anti-aircraft gunners running for their lives as naval salvoes crept towards the big gun position which they were supposed to be protecting. They go over in pairs—one directing the naval gunners by radio, the other watching for German fighters. •
