Mr R. J. W. Blick’s Transfer

Mr R. J. W. Blick, supervisor of the chief postmaster’s clerical staff at the Invercargill Post Office, who has been transferred on promotion to the position of chief clerk at the Nelson office, was entertained last evening at a social function by the Pastimes Club of the Invercargill Post Office. Mr W. G. Nield, vice-chairman of the club, was chairman, and spoke of Mr Blick’s long association with the branch. Mr F. A, Robins, chief postinaster, presented Mi- Blick " with a travelling rug and Mrs Blick with a floral spray. He congratulated the guest on his promotion and expressed regret at losing his services.

The evening concluded with dancing. Vocal items were contributed.
