Fines Of £lOO And £75

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, October 23. In the Magistrate’s Court today Sydney Eddowes was fined £lOO for using premises as a common gaming house. The police stated that he apparently was in a big way of business and had been before the Court on two previous occasions for a breach of the Gaming Act, the last occasion being in 1939. William John McCrae, admitting the same offence, was fined £75. The police stated he also appeared to be in business in a. big way.
