No Recommendation By Committee (Special) WELLINGTON, Aug. 4. Two petitions presented to the House last session on Invercargill licensing questions were reported upon by the Public Petitions Committee through its chairman, Mr W. M. C. Denham, when the House met this morning.

The first petition was that of A. J. MacGregor and 3801 others praying that legislation be enacted enabling the Invercargill City Corporation to own and control licensed hotels.

The second petition was by J. A. Mathieson, asking that a date be fixed for the election of,a licensing committee for the Invercargill Licensing District earlier than June 1, 1944.
