EIGHTEEN CENTRES SECURE QUOTAS
Investments In National War Savings
Investments in national war savings continue to be made at a steady rate and last week 18 Southland centres secured their weekly quotas. The actual amount received was £5602 for the district, the district quota of £3llO being exceeded by £2492. This gave Southland its 58th consecutive weekly success since the district quota scheme was introduced on April 1, 1943. Following are the centres which reached their quotas:—lnvercargill, Bluff, Edendale, Gore, Mataura, Nightcaps, Ohai, Orepuki, Otautau, Queenstown, Riversdale, Riverton, Thornbury, Tuatapere, Waikaia, Waikaka, Woodlands and Wyndham. Invercargill, with a weekly quota of £1634, raised £2343 last week, exceeding its quota by £709. Other good efforts were made by Gore, which raised £1342 (quota £400), Edendale, £l3O (£42), Mataura, £305 (£108), Orepuki, £lO4 (£2l), Queenstown, £169 (£52) and Tuatapere, £251 (£55).
