Re-establishment League
Substantial progress had been made during toe past 12 months and the league had now reached a stage of production that was very gratifying, stated the chairman, Mr S. Anderson, at toe annual meeting of toe Disabled Servicemen’s Civil Re-establishment League. The work of re-establishment was at present in its infancy, continued Mr Anderson. Apart from the factory, other means of helping disabled men who were unable to attend toe training centre would have to toe found. Such men would have to be helped in their own homes and even in toe hospitals as they gained strength. In toe league’s factory absolutely unskilled trainees under competent instructors had become skilled craftsmen within a few months. The trainees had already reached a, high standard of workmanship which would ensure toe ready sale of their products. The annual report stated there was a total staff of 26 men at toe factory, including 15 trainees. The sales for the year had totalled £6527 compared with £2774 toe previous year. Salaries and wages paid were £2BBB. The report was adopted.
