REQUIRED TO FIND BOND
Soldiers Rehabilitated To The Land
Information that in certain cases soldiers who had been rehabilitated on to the land had been required, as a condition to obtaining a loan, to produce a bond signed by a relation in addition to the ordinary security offered was given by the Dominion organizer (Mr F. E. Carter) to a meeting of the Southland Provincial Executive of the Farmers’ Union yesterday. Mr Carter said that in addition interest at 2 per cent, for the first year, 3 per cent, for the next two years and then the normal rate of interest had been enforced. In the agreement made with the State Advances Corporation the interest was shown at 2 per cent, for the first two years, 3 per cent, for the next two years and then the normal rate of interest. It was decided that the matter should be investigated.
