BIENNIAL ELECTIONS

The following reports of meetings of householders for the purpose of forming school committees throughout Southland have been received:—

CLIFTON.—Eight householders were present and Mr W. Jordan presided. The annual statement showed a credit balance of £77 16/3. The following were elected a committee for the ensuing year:—Messrs W. Jordan (chairman), L. G. Kelly (secretary), G. Dale, E. A. Hughes and A. Reinke. CROYDON BUSH.—Five householders were present and Mr D. W. McCall presided. The roll number for the school is 13. The annual statement showed a credit balance of £23 11/11. The following were elected a committee for the ensuing year:—Messrs D. W. McCall (chairman), J. A. Nicholson (secretary), T. Nicholson, J. F. Grant and Mrs J. Casey. GLE NORCHY.—Five householders were present and Mr J. Cornish presided. The roll number for the school is 32 and the average attendance for the year was 23.8. The animal statement showed a credit balance ■of £35 12/11. The following were elected a committeee for the ensuing year:—Messrs J. Cornish (chairman), J. E. Reid (secretary), D. K. Knowles, W. J. Craig and J. Robinson. GLEN HAM.—Five householders were present and Mr J. Howe presided. The roll number for the school is 24. The annual statement showed a credit balance of £lB 9/10. The following were elected a committee for the ensuing year:—Messrs J. Howe (chairman), J. Bruce (secretary), G. Officer, J. Scott and T. Thwaites. GORGE ROAD.—Five householders were present and Mr L. A. Niederer presided. The roll number for the school is 60 and the average attendance for the year was 50. The annual statement showed a credit balance of £43/13/6. The following were elected a comjfiittee for the ensuing year:—Messrs L. A. Niederer (chairman), D. J. Thomas (secretary), R. Gulliver, T. Peters and B. Ramsay.

HALDANE.—Five householders were present and Mr W. J. Weir presided. The following were elected a committee for the ensuing year:—Messrs W. J. Weir (chairman), A. Wybrow (secretary), T. Weir, W. Connor and W. Templeton.

HED DON BUSH.—Six householders were present and Mr J. Forde presided. The roll number for the school is 27. The annual statement, showed a credit balance of £53. The following were elected a committee for the ensuing year:—Messrs J. Forde (chairman), W. A. Mathieson (secretary), G. Catto, W. Hamilton and E. Malcolm. KAIWERA.—Nine householders were present and Mr John Clement presided. The roll number for the school is 18 and the average attendance for the year was 18. The annual statement showed a credit balance of £32 3/10. The following were elected a committee for the ensuing year:— Mr F. C. Bennett (chairman), Mrs D. M. Wilson (secretary), Messrs G. K. Pullar, C. E. Brotyn and A. Macale. LIMEHILLS.—About 20 householders were present and Mr W. A. Nicol! presided. The roll number for the school is 113 and the average attendance for the year was 99. The annual statement showed a credit balance of £27/11/11. The following were elected a committee for the ensuing year:—Messrs W. A. Nicoll (chairman), H. Doherty (secretary), W. Wilson, R. H. Hamilton and J. Anderson. McNAß.—Five householders were present and Mr J. 'H. Milne presided. The following were elected a committee for the ensuing year:—Messrs J. H. Milne (chairman), W. Cunningham (secretary), R. Burgess, E. Herron and S. L. Mac Gibbon. MAKAREWA.—TweIve householders were present and Mr A. S. George presided. The annual statement showed a credit balance of £4/2/11. The following were elected a committee for the ensuing year:—Messrs C. Haywood (chairman), E. D. Mclvor (secretary), E. Leggett, J. Smith, D. Pearson, J. McNatty and J. R. McLean.

MOKORETA.—Five householders were present and Mr G. F. Mcßae presided. The roll number for the school is 12 and the average attendance for the year was 11.5. The annual statement showed a credit balance of £ll 18/11. The following were elected a committee for the ensuing year:—Messrs G. F. Mcßae (chairman), G. L. Maslin (secretary), F. F. Leckie, R. Hawkihs, J. Craig and F. Richardson.

NORTH . CHATTON.—Six householders were present and Mr G. L. Mair presided. The roll number for the school is 19. The annual statement showed a credit balance of £36/9/1. The following were elected a committee for the ensuing year:—Messrs G. L. Mair (chairman), C. Hewlett (secretary), D. W. Graham, R. <J. Burns and A. Nicholson. OHAI Seven householders were present and Mr, L. S. ‘Edmond presided. The roll number for the school is 178 and the average attendance for the year was 191. The annual statement showed a 'credit balance of £167 14/5. The following were elected a commltteee for the ensuing year:—Messrs L. S. Edmond (chairman), F. A. McLean (secretaryj, J. Mair, A. Lowrey, W. Craig, R. A. Keast and R, N. Murray. ORAWIA.—Five householders were present and Mr J. Chamberlain presided. The following were elected a committee for the ensuing year:—Messrs J. Chamberlain (chairman), W. Mclntosh (secretary), G. Findlay, R. Chamberlain and D. Hamilton.

OTATARA. — A. small number of householders were present and Mr D. Gordon presided. The roll number for the school is 45. The annual statement showed a satisfactory credit balance. The following were elected a committee for .the ■ ensuing year:— Messrs D. Gordon (chairman), E. Conner (secretary), G. Shave, J. Harvey and H. Erskine. f

PAHIA.-—Eight householders were present and Mr F. Church presided. The roll number for the school is 17. The annual statement showed a credit balance of £lB. The following were elected a committee for the ensuing year:—Messrs F. Church (chairman), G. Kennedy (secretary), T. Cowan, A. Agnew and W. Christie.

PINE BUSH.—Six householders were present and Mr J. Beattie presided. The roll number for the school is 22 and the average attendance for the year was 21. The annual statement showed a credit balance of £2O 1/10. The following were elected a committee for the ensuing year:—Messrs W. Smith (chairman), A. D. Couling (secretary), M. Beattie, F. Brown and H. Dunlop.
