IN OPPOSITION TO HORTHY

Hungarian National Council Formed

(Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, April 24. An Hungarian National Council, headed by Count Michael Karolje, former Prime Minister of Hungary, who has been living in exile for 25 years, was formed in London after a conference between the three Hungarian associations in Britain. The conference resolved that the Hungarian National Council abroad would not recognize Hungarian occupation of sub-Carpath-ian and Yugoslav territories. It demanded the punishment of Admiral Horthy as Hungarian war criminal No. 1. The council urged immediate peace negotiations. The Exchange Telegraph’s correspondent says it is stated that the council is not an exile Government, but was created to represent the interests of Hungarian people abroad and to constitute a bridge for an understanding after the war between the Hungarian nation and its Slav neighbours.
