PREVIOUSLY REPORTED MISSING, NOW CONFIRMED AS PRISONER OF WAR DE LA PERRELLE, ACTING SQUADRON LEADER VICTOR BRETON, R.A.F.V.R.; Winton. Squadron Leader Victor de la Perrelle, who has now been reported a prisoner of war, is the youngest son or the late Hon. P. A. de la Perrelle. He served with the Royal Air Force in Java. Squadron Leader Perrelle was born at Winton and received his education at the Winton school and the Southland Boys’ High School. He was employed by J. G. Ward and Company, Ltd., before leaving New Zealand in 1939 to take a short service commission with the Royal Air Force. He was promoted to the rank of squadron leader at the age of 22.
