CONFERENCE OF ROTARY CLUBS

War conditions did not allow for the holding of the New Zealand Conference of Rotary Clubs this year so a substitute conference was held at Dunedin during the week-end. Eight South Island clubs were represented and 62 visitors were present at the conference. Mr F. G. Hall-Jones, of Invercargill, District Governor for New Zealand, was in the chair. Twenty-two members of the Invercargill Rotary Club and the president, Dr J. G. Macdonald, travelled from Invercargill to attend the conference. Speeches were given by Mr Hall-Jones, Mr Charles Young, of Christchurch, governor-elect, and Mr Hugh Neill, of the Dunedin club.
