N.Z. BOMBER SQUADRON OVER COLOGNE

(Special Correspondent, N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, June 1. The New Zealand Bomber Squadron took part in the big raid on Cologne, when 1000 planes dropped 10 tons of bombs a minute. All the members of the squadron returned safely. WingCommander E. G. Olson, the commander of the squadron, said: “Everything went to schedule. All the boys said it was a grand trip.” It can be taken for granted that there were many New Zealanders among the crews bombing Cologne—probably 100 or so—for New Zealanders are to be found at nearly every station throughout Britain, sometimes in groups of ones or twos.

The New Zealand High Commissioner, Mr W. J. Jordan, on Wednesday will pay a visit to New Zealand airmen who participated in the Cologne raid.
