POLICE INVESTIGATING WOMAN’S DEATH

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, May 31. A police investigation is proceeding as a result of a woman bemg found in a house in Boulcott street, Wellington, late on Saturday night with an injury from which sha died this afternoon. It is believed she had been injured in a fracas. The woman was Maud Purcell, aged 38, a widow. She was admitted to hospital at 11.30 p.m. with an injury to the head, and died at 3.30 p.m. on Sunday. She was unconscious when admitted and did not regain consciousness before she died.
