(Rec. 9 p.m.) WASHINGTON, March 3. Here is the latest authentic “MacArthur anecdote,” being related in War Department offices. On the day after the recent air raid scare at Los Angeles, with its attendant national excitement, the dashing Philippine commander sent the following message to the War Department: “If you can hold out for 30 days we will send reinforcements.”
