DEATH OF CHAMPION TROTTER

(P.A.) TIMARU, March 3. Certissimus, who was regarded as the greatest trotter of the age raced in New Zealand, died tonight. The horse met with an accident last week when returning from a work-out on a private track at Pleasant Point. When on tire road the overcheck caught in a shaft and the horse reared and fell, suffering severe injuries. The horse, who was owned by Mr J. K. Teahen and trained by Mr D. Teahen, endeared himself to the racing public by his brilliance and consistency.
