TRANSPORT MINISTER’S EDICT (P.A.) AUCKLAND, March 3. The announcement made from Christchurch by the Hon. R. Semple that the doubling up of passengers in taxis must stop or cabs would be put off the road, was the subject of an aggrieved discussion among drivers in Auckland. They had always been opposed to the idea of doubling up, representative drivers stated, as they knew it was a practice that could easily lead to abuse.
