FIRST PRISONER— The first prisoner to stand in the dock of the new Magistrate’s Court appeared before Mr R. C. Abernethy, S.M., yesterday. He was Robert Janson Smylie, aged 61, a labourer of no fixed abode. He was charged with failing to comply with maintenance orders which were £153 5/- in arrears. He was remanded until Monday.
