GRANT FOR KINDERGARTEN TRAINING

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, February 5. Provision for the payment of grants for training students in kindergarten work was made in regulations gazetted tonight. The Minister of Education (the Hon. H. G. R. Mason) stated that the general purpose of the regulations was to provide a minimum of £5O a year for each teacher during the period of training, but the actual administration of the grant wa§ carried out by the Kindergarten Association. The Minister added that the Government realized the importance of kindergarten work and its bearing upon the whole future of the child.
