BINOCULARS FOR USE ON ACTIVE SERVICE

MANY PAIRS HANDED IN AT INVERCARGILL

Binoculars and telescopes for use by members of the armed forces are urgently needed and during the last week or so more than 100 pairs of binoculars have been received at the Chief Post Office. Many are of great sentimental value and some have already seen active service. The instruments can be. donated as a gift, can be lent for the duration of the war or can be sold to the Defence Department. Circulars have been sent out to racing men asking them to support the appeal and quite a number of men has already responded by handing their binoculars in at the post office for use on active service. Thirteen telescopes and 119 pairs of binoculars have so far been received at Invercargill.
