NEW BRIDGE * The decking of the final span of the new bridge across the Mataura river at Menzies Ferry was laid last week and only the hand, railing has to be completed. It is expected that the whole structure will be completed by the end of February. VITAL STATISTICS
The’vital statistics for Wyndham for the past twelve months reveal an increase in the number of births and deaths registered and a decrease in the number of marriages. The figures for the month were as follows, those for 1940 being given in parenthesis: Births, 4 (1); Deaths, 3 (0); Marriages, 0 (2). The figures for the respective years are: Births, 67 (51); Deaths, 21 (13); Marriages, 13 (26). PERSONAL Mr and Mrs W. L. Stewart leave for Timaru this week. Mr and Mrs A. A. Wilson have left on a short holiday visit to South Canterbury.
