FORTY-HOUR WEEK
Sir, —We have half of our community doing its utmost, but the remainder are sticking to the teaching of their bosses: “A 40-hour week is a great war effort. Indeed? It is a noxious weed in this British Empire that needs rooting out. How bitter it is to read of the strikes, discontentment and loafing going on in New Zealand while a great majority of our brave and loyal sons are serving in the forces. DUNMAGLAS.
