55 APPLICATIONS HEARD

TRANSPORT LICENSING AUTHORITY

Fifty-five applications for new goods service and taxi-cab licences, transfers, amendments and revocation of licences were heard by the No. 4 Transport Licensing Authority (Mr S. V. Raines) at a sitting in Invercargill yesterday. The following new goods service licences were granted:—N. L. Whipp, Stewart Island; A. B. Moffett, Invercargill; G. Cook, Lumsden; H. McCall, Otara.

Transfer of goods-service licences were approved as follows:—A. A. Heenan, Woodlands (from C. A. B. Emerson); IH. F. Laurie, Otautau (from Otautau {Freight Service); Winton Carrying Co. Ltd. (from J. O. Kitching and Sons); F. lE. Gilligan Ltd. (from W. J. Blatch); F. I Withington and Son (from G. PinckIney); J. W. Paton (Invercargill) Ltd. (from R. W. Shepherd). The following applications for amendments to goods-service licences were granted:—New Zealand Express Co. Ltd., Gore; J. H. Stevenson, Balclutha. One application by W. R. R. Cruickshank and S. Ward (N.Z.) Ltd. was granted and another refused. An application by J. G. McKinna, Lumsden, was refused and decision was reserved on an application by J. W. Paton (Invercargill) Ltd. E. W. Frew, Invercargill, withdrew his application for amendment. j R. R. Pullar, Invercargill, C. Gorton, Tuatapere, and J. T. Agnew, Invercargill, were granted revocation of their goods service licences. A similar application by J. A. Mangan, Tuatapere, was refused. An application by R. J. Gibson, Invercargill, for a new taxicab licence was withdrawn. TAXICAB LICENCES The taxicab licence of AC.N. Anderson, Bluff, was renewed without amendment. E. B. Boberg, Invercargill, was granted a renewal of his licence, and his application for amendment was withdrawn. The application of Denton’s Motors, Bluff, for renewal was granted and an application for amendment was reserved. The following renewals of taxicab licences were also granted:—H. A. Bone, Invercargill; D. Bryan, Invercargill; G. Bryan, Invercargill;; Burns’s Motor Garage, Wyndham; V. R. Y. Challis, Invercargill; J. E. Cocklin, Invercargill; Miss K. V. Finnegan, Winton; G. R. Harvey, Invercargill; J. A. Hobbs, Tuatapere; D. E. Hopkins, Invercargill; Invercargill Red Band Taxis Ltd.; H. C. Johnstone, Riverton; J. N. Kissell, Invercargill; G. E. Maltby, Invercargill; Maltby and Cocklin, Invercargill; J. M. Marshall and Son, Wyndham, G. Murrell, Invercargill; L. D. MacVicker, Invercargill; G. B. Pagan, Winton; J. Pagan, Invercargill; P. Richmond, Moss-

burn; W. R. Ronald, Invercargill; D. F. Scott, Invercargill; Singer Taxis Ltd.; A. F. Webb, Riverton. Applications for the renewal of rental car licences were granted as follows:—E. B. Boberg; E. Bradshaw; Mutual Rental Cars Ltd., Invercargill; McKinnon Brothers Ltd., Riverton; G. R. McMillan, Otautau; Watts and Grieve Ltd., Invercargill.
