Up till Tuesday 2.45 inches of rain had fallen this month. NATIONAL SAVINGS The receipts for National Savings last week were £63 short of the quota, £193, and the money ball which was placed in position on the Winton Post Office flagpole during the week- was 1 raised two-thirds of the way up the j staff. I A local committee has been formed to further the interest in the National I Savings campaign. The members of the | committee are Messrs N. Metzger (chairman), J. F. Harrison, N. G. Pigou, J. T. Boylen and Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd. TENNIS A Central District competition match was played at Winton when Oreti defeated the home team by 10 sets to 6.
