RESTAURANTS OPENED

(8.0.W.) RUGBY, September 22. The one thousandth “British restaurant” was opened today by the Minister of Food, Lord Woolton, who said that although the enemy had done his best for two years Britain was still in the war and, despite some disasters, was better equipped than before. The restaurant seats 250 persons and provides two course meals—meat, two vegetables, sweets and a cup of tea—at prices from lOd to 1/-.
