General Rain Likely (Special) WELLINGTON, Sept. 23. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington:— Fresh to strong north-westerly winds; the weather cloudy and mild with some showers in the coastal areas. Further outlook: General rain possible with a westerly change. The weather in Invercargill yesterday morning was fine and warm. The atmosphere became close later in the day and rain fell in the afternoon. There was little rain last night. At 1 o’clock this morning the weather was mild and a light north-easterly wind was blowing. The barometer reading was 29.80 in. (falling).
