RIVERTON

P.W.M.U. AND LADIES’ GUILD The annual sale of the P.W.M.U. and Ladies’ Guild was held in the Presbyterian Sunday School Hall. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames E. H. Gray and J. Crawford. During the sale the Rev. J. A. F. Watson thanked the women for all the time and trouble they had taken to make the sale a success. Miss May Robertson contributed piano solos. The treasurer, Mrs E. B. Patrick, reports that although the returns were not equal to those of previous years, the sale had proved a successful one. CONCERT BY OTAUTAU PARTY An entertaining concert in aid of the patriotic funds was given by the Otautau “Hott Shotz” party under- the leadership of Mr V. O’Brien, in the Empire Theatre. Mr J. A. Martin expressed the thanks of the Patriotic Committee to the Otautau party for the

entertaining evening and to those of the public present for the support they had given. Gifts of posies made by Miss M. Robinson were presented to each of the women members of the concert party.
